TIGERBOB: GOSSAMER ROZEN FINE ART

Bat Theme

This tiger's look is inspired by depictions of goblins or demons. Some colors for the "bat" palette were sampled from antique textiles in Gossamer's collection.

Candy Theme

The "candy" palette is inspired by ice cream and colored sprinkles. It lives in a fantastic landscape of candy and food.

Dormant Theme

One of three monochrome tigers, the "dormant" palette is as dark as possible without using black. The warm, dark tones are like the comfort of hibernation in the winter time.

Frog Theme

The "frog" tiger's spots and muted yellow-green and brown tones come from the leopard frog.

Gelid Theme

The "gelid" tiger is inspired by one of Gossamer's cats. This tiger lives in a cold marsh.

Ghost Theme

One of three monochrome tigers, the "ghost" palette uses as many white and pastel tones as possible. It lives in a cold and fragile landscape.

Laser Theme

The "laser" palette features bright red outlines. The palette uses contrasting pastel colors and expresses something made of light.

Magma Theme

One of two celestial tigers, indicated by its unnatural yellow glow. The "magma" palette uses traditional colors from Asia. This tiger's look is inspired by Eastern and Western dragons.

Moon Theme

One of two celestial tigers, indicated by its unnatural purple glow. The "moon" tiger's glowing spots of fur wax and wane like the moon's phases.

Pinky Theme

The "pinky" palette is an alternative the black and orange tiger stripes. The colorway is inspired by leucism in the animal world.

Tiger Theme

The original Tigerbob, the “tiger” theme is bold and bright with a playful palette.

Variegated Theme

The "variegated" palette comes from colors seen in an oil slick. The rainbow colors are muddy and muted.

Verdant Theme

One of the three monochrome tigers, the "verdant" palette is very saturated. The “verdant” background is a bright chartreuse like the color of light filtering through leaves.

About The Art

Color study & variations

Inspired by variations of tattoo flash (pre-drawn illustrations), The Tigerbob tiger design has 13 signature themes, or color palettes, which dictate the mood and character of each type of Tigerbob.Gossamer’s execution is inspired by medieval European and Asian art, particularly work that makes use of atmospheric perspective with flora and fauna like Korean minhwa, Japanese folding screens, Chinese handscrolls, and French Aubusson tapestries.

Tigerbob’s Origin

Tigerbob is an otherworldly creature who resides in the Elysian Garden alongside other unnatural beasts and nature spirits. A respected beast spirit of the garden, Tigerbob was one singular creature until an event caused it to be split into thirteen different equal dimensions and one thousand pieces. Today, these thirteen Tigerbob breeds live on thirteen mountain peaks in the Elysian Garden.

Following a rich story arc of characters and world building since Gossamer’s teenage years, Tigerbob joins the pantheon of beasts from the Gossamer Rozen universe. These stories were shaped by Gossamer’s childhood, organized religion, folklore, and identity through artistic expression.
